While visiting displaced pre-school teachers from Kaniv in the Cherkasy region, I asked if they had a message for American teachers. One said something every educator can relate to: “Our smallest kids are the future of our country, and we would like for them not to see the war.”

Met with displaced teachers yesterday in Drohobych, outside Lviv. The stories are harrowing..teaching in occupied regions in basements, and keeping their voices low to avoid their Ukrainian being overheard by Russian troops who were not beyond torturing & killing civilians.
