Crypto is yet another example of software developers choosing the new shiny over boring shit that works. This is the best article I've read on web3. https://t.co/BC2uw5AiTf

Even after all of this I'm not super confident in my setup and I'm pairing with another dev tomorrow to try and wrap my head around a few things and improve it.

I ended up bailing on WebPack and going to Rollup for bundling. I have a couple plugins for polyfills and transpiling .vue components. I would have used Vite but this project is using Vue2 so I have my own Rollup setup for development.

I've somehow spent the last 12 years as a JS developer and have never built a package for NPM! It was ridiculously confusing and filled with surprises around each corner.

"What exactly is IN a Javascript package and how do I build one?" An article I could have used 2 weeks ago before I started down the path of copy/paste from Stack Overflow until it works.

Side note: Building packages for JS is perhaps the suckiest thing I've ever done as a developer. It's unbelievable how bad that ecosystem is right now. I have empathy and respect for anyone and everyone who has deployed a package to NPM that actually works.

I said "never give up — YOLO!" and ejected from Vue-CLI (manually, they don't have a way to do this), and replaced it with Rollup and built/shipped my first package to NPM 5 hours later. Customer rescheduled for after the holidays. 😭

We needed our library published to NPM for a customer today. I worked all weekend and Monday to get it set up. 5pm yesterday discovered that my package built by Vue CLI would not work for this customer so...

I know I could just google this, plan to later, but meanwhile I'm staring at an opportunity I can't invest in just because I'm not rich enough.

Actual question: What's the history behind "Accredited Investors"? The only logic I can come up with is some paternalistic regulating body decided to protect the "poors" from themselves because they are dumb OR, more nefariously, rich people hoarding investment opportunities.

I don't know anyone else that would be excited about mitochondria made of felt but this niche was really dialed in for me.

My new favorite piece of art: mitochondria made of felt. I still can't believe this exists! We also bought the Giardia Oocyst. Bought it at a little art fair. She has other felt body parts and weird things here https://t.co/yvbnrZ9HnY

I'm in this fantastic place for the moment where I wish I had more time in my day to spend on every single thing I've decided to fill my life with.

Because they are copying google/facebook/netflix/whatever and they have way more platform investment need than the rest of us.

I think in one way what this thread is really saying is that small shops get the balance between the two wrong.
