when I say I use cursor, please don't assume I'm using the agent. i know this hard to believe, but some of us are BETTER than the AI. yes, I'm sure the day will come that we have AGI – but while I remain better than the AI, I'll be doing the majority of the coding around here

the reason your React code sucks is useEffect + setState. don't sync local state inside of useEffects - this will make your code overly complex to reason about
