As splash pads begin to open for the season across the City of Buffalo, I was happy to join local organizations and neighbors at Riverside Park to celebrate new state funding for a splash pad of their own.

Buffalo is a welcoming and diverse community. As we begin this week-long celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, we are keenly aware that other places around the country are not as welcoming, and in some places, pride flags have actually been banned.
