Exciting news to share…we wrote a book!. A 📕 for kids about #sicklecell! . A 📘 you want to share w/ teachers, neighbors, friends. A 📗 you want to read w/ your kid bc it’s important for them to know more about a disease that affects so many in our 🌎.

This is what #advocacy can do! The medical community and legislators coming together to push back on the monopoly that is health insurance. Insurers should have NO influence on whether a family can choose a life-saving procedure. This went too far, and we can’t stop this fight.

The company did the (better) thing voluntarily, rather than being forced to, to pull the med. But we are still expecting more info from them, and will continue to advocate to all governing bodies the importance of funding patient-led studies and dedicated SCD centers! 💪🏽.
