For some, Gizmo's intense drive and energetic nature may be too much to handle, but at SDF, those qualities make him the perfect canine candidate. Now, Gizmo gets to spend every day doing what he loves, training to become the search dog he was 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲!

Thankfully for Gizmo and for us, staff members noticed his intense toy drive and contacted SDF! He was accepted into our program and began his formal search training, where he’s proven his talent and surpassed all expectations!

Life was good for young Gizmo, who was adopted and cared for by a young couple when he was just a puppy. However, as their family grew, his owners found that they couldn't keep up with Gizmo's rambunctious personality and surrendered him to @HBGRR.

Jacy's heart has healed with Mason in her life, and Mason is loving life beside his adoring teammate as the disaster search partner and soul mate he was 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲!

Mason and Jacy were officially paired by SDF in June of this year, and their bond has since gone from strong to unbreakable.

She instantly fell in love with everything about Mason, from his speckled paws to his spunky personality, and from the first day they trained together, Jacy knew they were destined to be partners in search!

Then during one handler training session on SDF's campus, she met Mason. Mason had been recruited from the Aberdeen Area Humane Society when no owner came forward to claim him, and his story, like so many SDF dogs, resonated with Jacy, whose previous dogs had all been rescues.

When Jacy Hernandez was given the opportunity to train with SDF, she jumped at the chance to fulfill her longtime goal of becoming a canine handler, though at the time, she was still reeling from the loss of her beloved dog, Diggy.

Now, as a conservation detection dog, Fenton is exactly where he’s 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲, devotedly searching diverse landscapes while making a positive impact on the planet.

Determined to find his perfect fit, SDF arranged for Fenton to train with Working Dogs for Conservation, where he thrived in the tranquility of the great outdoors!

After being surrendered by his owner, Fenton found his way to SDF’s program and instantly took to his training, eagerly mastering new skills with enthusiasm. However, his sensitivity to loud noises ruled out disaster search as a suitable career choice.
