It’s a filter. Creative people take risks and find ways around their shortcomings. AI guys are right when they say that AI can be a tool. But for the vast majority, it’s a crutch. And a better, streamlined crutch isn’t going to heal a broken leg.

I said it before, but generating teasers in isolation is as useful as being the “idea guy”. Without execution, it’s meaningless. The claims that learning the artistic process (3D modeling, illustration, programming, etc) is a “waste of time” or “too hard” are just cope.

It’s like people who say they’d be as rich as Bezos if they had a million to get started. Saying that the only thing between you and your dreams is AI advancing to some arbitrary metric is an excuse to avoid an uncomfortable truth: If you wanted it, you’d already be doing it.

I think there are actually decent use cases for generative AI, but it's current application in creative fields is so obviously and transparently wrong. Crazy that people have this vitriolic hatred toward artists now.

Nothing about protecting artists. No word about copyright, consent, compensation, or any sort of opt-out policy. No word about training data or ethics concerns. Just accelerating AI development by removing "onerous regulations". Pathetic.
