One aspect of the Eastland-Pecatonica “holding the ball” debate no one seems to be talking about is that it takes two to run the clock without playing the game. No one dislikes that strategy more than I do, but all the opposing team has to do to stop it is guard the basketball.

Coach Snyder was a gem of a man and a great coach. When I became coach at Washington in the late 1970’s our teams played against each other in the old Corn Belt Conference. He couldn’t have been nicer to a young coach. Honored to call him a friend. RIP Coach.
John Snyder was a unique, genuine character and a B-N sports icon. His death at 93 leaves a void. Thank you to Tom Eder, Rae Ann Ploense and Bobby Moews for helping me tell his story. He was special.

No Washington players? Hard to imagine that among Lewis, Duncan and Johnson that one or more should’t be included. Also Washington should be a top 3 pre-season pick or does there always have to be a Peoria team in there. Doing your homework is important.

Former Bradley Men's Basketball Player Greg Berry passed away yesterday in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Greg lettered in 3 sports at BU - basketball, track and golf. From Manlius, Il. Berry, 77, was a career member and leader in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. RIP good friend.
