Flags throughout the district are at half-mast in memory of Mazina Giizhik (Murray Sinclair). His work to advance the rights of Indigenous Peoples and amplify the voices of residential school survivors won’t be forgotten. Our hearts are with those who are feeling this loss.💙

Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains in BC and around the world are celebrating Diwali, marking the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. Many Sikh communities will also gather for Bandi Chhor Divas, a celebration of freedom and justice. Happy Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas!

If you're heading out this Halloween, slow down and watch for trick-or-treaters. Talk to kids about safety before the excitement begins. Check fireworks rules in your area and keep them away from kids. Have a fa-BOO-lous Halloween!
