V excited to work with @aclientfirst on this. Queer autistic clients can face lots of specific difficulties in therapy & many of us have stories of harmful therapy experiences. This is also a population who are v likely to seek/be recommended therapy. Looking fwd to this workshop.

This is really important. The distancing is a big part of the problem. It also serves to further isolate both practitioners and their clients, compounding the harm.
Therapists like to say "that isn't therapy" as a means to other harmful therapy. We love to disown it. "bad apples" "lone wolves" "not therapy" "shocking" all serve to distance us from the fact that harmful therapy is common and we are part of the systems that lead to it.
