Individuals in our care at HMP Edinburgh have made a fantastic mud kitchen for the playground at nearby Stenhouse Primary School. With the support of Officer Craig, individuals have put their joinery skills to good use and are delighted to be giving back to their local community.

Two things I particularly like about Remembrance in prisons: (1) staff and prisoners meet together as human beings without the division that there usually has to be, & (2) those veterans who ended up in prison due to being very damaged by PTSD feel seen.

Remembrance events have been held across our prisons, giving staff and those in our care the opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all our armed forces. Staff have also laid wreaths at Cenotaphs in villages and towns local to establishments, on behalf of the SPS.
