The Galloway Forest Park was designated a Dark Sky Park by the International Dark‑Sky Association in Nov 2009. On a clear night, visitors can watch the sky in awe as over 7,000 stars and planets come into view with the naked eye, including the Milky Way.

Dark Art Distillery is based in the ‘Artist’s Town’ of Kirkcudbright in Dumfries & Galloway, on the far south west Scottish border. The distillery is housed in the beautifully renovated Johnston Primary School, occupying two former classrooms.

Our #ScottishGin subscribers recently received UnderStory Woodland Gin from Dark Art Distillery. This gin is inspired by the landscape fauna that sits beneath the canopy of Galloway Forest Park, delivering bright juniper with complementary florals, herbaceous notes and green tea.

The red chillis and pink peppercorns are slowly infused with smoke at the distillery before being used in the distillation. The result is a classic gin with notes of juniper, floral, citrus, delicately layered with smoky spices, providing warmth and complex spicy aromatic notes.

Inventor’s Gin was recently featured in our exclusive Scottish Gin Subscription service. The recipe features locally foraged heather root and nettles, homegrown red chillis and a range of commercially sourced botanicals, including juniper and pink peppercorns.

The House of Elrick estate is rich in history, dating back over 300 years. Bonnie Prince Charlie is said to have visited & gifted the Jacobite rose to the estate, which can be found growing in the beautiful walled garden in the heart of the grounds.

Working on a traditional Portuguese alembic pot still, Duncan and Shirley have always maintained a hands-on approach; all spirits are distilled, bottled, labelled, waxed, packaged by hand on-site at their family farm, reflecting their dedication to quality, craft, authenticity.

Roehill Springs Distillery was est in 2019 by husband and wife Duncan and Shirley Morrison on their family farm nr the town of Keith in Moray. This spring is named after the abundance of wild roe deer that graze there and it provides a pristine water source for spirit production.
