A Jan. 1 title game (the Lanning model) would feature some big hurdles, but if all we did was move 1R to the week after Championship Week, the QFs to the next week and the semis to Jan. 1, we could have the title game ~Jan. 8 and lop 11 days off of this endless playoff.
