@scotorth and @BritOrthopaedic work closely together to bring focus to orthopaedics in Scotland, with the Chair of SCOT providing regular updates to BOA Council, and receiving support in SCOT’s mission to advocate for orthopaedic delivery in Scotland.
Had a really informative and engaging BOA Council meeting today. It was fantastic to gain insight from our Council members on the activities of the BOA, our future direction and the issues facing our members.

BOA/UKHSA Dosimetry study is now open for registrations & will run for 3 months. It is looking at radiation exposure in the axilla compared to the chest wall of surgeons (at all levels). If you would like to join, please email us at info@boa.ac.uk promptly to be included.

Day 1 at Mzuzu Central Hospital with our “new” trusty Land Rover. Lessons learnt: 📊 There is a huge amount of data collected by the team allowing for an accurate epidemiology study 🦴 Staff work tirelessly seeing over 6000 patients per year 💰 Funding and resources are scarce

Day 2 ➡️ theatre: Distal humerus non union Tibial shaft non union DHS for a 5 week old intracapsular NOF - arthroplasty is not an option The team had a long list of improvements from a simple instrument tray checklist 📋, to an US scanner for blocks 💉& a new theatre 💰!
