Maybe I will do a space tlaking about chapters 1 and 2 of “With Great Power” (the Spider-Man fic) as I get closer to dropping the next chapter. That might be fun even it’s only me talking to myself!.

for fun and it doesn't matter 2) you can always work up to getting a beta 3) write something, post it, engage with the commenters and you'll probably make writing friends then you can help each other out betaing. This fandom NEEDS more writers so please please please write for us.

Open office is a free program that's similar to microsoft word, so you could use that if you wanted. I don't know if it's true that Google docs is feeding into AI, but it wouldn't surprise me. For your embarrassment about having someone beta read: just remember 1) it's all +.

of editing. As far as what to write in, there are other programs. Scrivener does technically cost like $60, but it's a one time fee and not a subscription. I've heard people like "ellipses". I only use google docs when I'm co-writing or when I'm ready for beta reading. .

You can customize it with different colors and backgrounds for a different vibe. I currently have dark mode and it's really cool. It also has a "snapshot" feature so you can save a draft before you start tearing it apart editing -- this is huge for me because I'm so terrified +.

and for novels, so it's perfect for me in my original writing. For fics, though, I write in Scrivener because you can do split screen, you can do a continuous writing blob like typewriter style, you can combine chapters so you're looking at more than one at a time. .

I write in a program called Scrivener, which I personally think is the best writing program. I make one "book" for every year's worth of fanfiction --> like "2025 Fanfiction" and then I make folders for my various fics I'm working on. Scrivener is intended for screenwriting +.
