Se você ou alguém da sua família tem plaquetas baixas, fica com hematomas frequentes ou sangra muito, é importante falar com um #Hematologista. O diagnóstico diferencial é importante para determinar a causa subjacente e o manejo adequado da doença.

Quando não é herdada geneticamente, as causas comuns de queda do número de plaquetas incluem: infecções virais, doenças autoimunes, deficiências nutricionais, alguns medicamentos, doenças hepáticas, neoplasias e a gestação.

Existem várias doenças hereditárias que podem causar plaquetopenia. Alguns exemplos incluem: síndrome de Wiskott-Aldrich, síndrome das plaquetas cinzentas, trombastenia de Glanzmann, síndrome de Bernard-Soulier, trombocitopenia amegacariocítica congênita e a anemia de Fanconi.
