The last roundup! Made the tough decision to get rid of the cows. Kids are growing up too fast and between the cows and my job I needed to find some time. And letting go of my job wasn’t an option!😂😂 12-19-23 at ALM is where they find their new homes!

In north central Nebraska it’s 5*6 bales as far as the eye can see. Currently in southeast Kansas and all we see are 4*6 bales. Wondering if there’s a reason or if the 4*6 salesmen were just that good!🤷♀️

Shortest hay crop I’ve ever put up but damn the bales look nice! Green rolls of gold!

I think this fix would probably last the season but I’ll probably need the fence stretcher elsewhere.

A calm beautiful morning! Rare for the wind to not be blowing!

Fixing fence on a beautiful day so I can turn the worked pairs out to fresh clean ground. Then another winter weather watch beeps through on my phone! Maybe I better keep them up close another week.

Thank goodness! I was afraid I wouldn’t have any fence to fix this spring!🤦🏻

Today is the due date for my cows and I am already 15% done! Overall they’ve been small but doing well. Guessing the other 85% will drag on a while🤦🏻

What better thing to do in my spare time on a weekend other than to push more f’n snow!

And calving 2023 has started! He’s a couple weeks early but his momma picked a beautiful 30 degree morning without wind and she didn’t have him in the snow!

I really love living where we do. Except for the long drive to get a broken bracket repaired on my daughters braces! 5.5 hrs of drive time for a 15 minute repair. On a positive note she’s getting some excellent driving experience as her 16th birthday nears.

I’ve definitely dealt with much more massive snow drifts in the past but the amount of snow left on the flat after the last two storms is impressive! Good moisture but I’d prefer the type that doesn’t need scooped!

Hopefully the damage from the first 18” of snow is supported well enough to survive the next 18”!

Then I see this map! That 2-3’ little closer than I’m comfortable with!
