@scalajos @jdegoes The lost opportunity is maybe the thing that saddens me the most. Scala 3 is a marvel of engineering engulfed by an overwhelming amount of unprofessionalism and deep lack of foresight. With just a few adjustments in presentation and coordination, it could be a striking success.

I'm immediately hiring a Scala developer at @zivergetech. 👀 You should be able to start soon and probably be located in Eastern Europe. ⏲️ You'll own microservices end-to-end, and ship production code with Scala effect systems. 🚀

@tribbloid @ahoy_jon @diesalbla @guizmaii @polentino911 At a technical level, I’d say that’s the crux of the issue. Effect systems are a better answer for what those provide. Algebraic effects in Kyo go even beyond in terms of expressive power and composability, including to deal with state. Caprese’s direct style is imperative

Generative AI is not intelligence. Mimicking sounds, videos, text or images, is interesting to some degree, but that's not intelligence especially given the resources that go into these models. And you not magically going to get intelligence out of compressing lots of data.

Yes, Scala3 "significant indentation" is terrible @odersky It's time to stop this social experiment It's time to stop splitting the Scala developer community on one more subject Great post by Alexandru, as always https://t.co/Xm2bKpj7if

Scala 3 came with “significant indentation”. And I still dislike it, despite trying hard, so I’m switching back to braces.
