It's been 29 years since TaikiBlizzard, a talented horse who was never able to reach a G1 title, ran in the 1996 Breeders'CupClassic for the 1st time, finishing in a crushing 13th place behind Alphabet Soup... It's quite moving. Also, it looks like he'll be a UmaMusume next year.

It's been 27years since SilenceSuzuka passed away. In the autumn of98, he raced against ElCondorPasa&GrassWonder in the legendary MainichiOkan,& TennoSho,he raced to heaven as the fastest horse. Being with her at both of those races is a treasure to me. May he be even happier.

EishinFlash has retired as a stallion. He won twoG1 races, including the Derby in10 & the Autumn TennoSho in12, attended by His Majesty the Emperor, and as a stallion he produced Vela Azul, winner of the JapanC22. He will now spend his time at Versailles Resort Farm.

Junko Hosoe 1 of the 1st 3female jockeys to debut with the JRA in96,she was a contemporary of YuichiFukunaga of KingHalo&RyujiWada of OperaO. She retired in01 & became a horseracing commentator,becoming a regular on Sunday horseracing broadcasts. Beware:X is full of dirty jokes!

When I started watching horse racing around 30 years ago (1995-96), the most successful horse was Shinzan, the second Triple Crown winner. In the same era, America had Northern Dancer and Europe had SeaBird.(↓continue)

Shinzan was the world's longest-lived thoroughbred at the time, and he was still alive, but there were no children of that era who could be pictured as loving Shinzan. Rice Shower was great.

It has been 49 days since Haruurara passed away. After her death, she was tried 7times, every 7days,& today marks the end of the mourning period, when the 7th trial is completed & her future is decided. I'm sure she will be enjoying her time in heaven from today onwards.
