Save Lamu held a focused group discussion with indigenous community members. The session aimed to collect cultural Indigenous names of different mangrove species. By engaging them, we are preserving local heritage and strengthening efforts to protect our coastal environment.

Save Lamu met with BMU representatives from across Lamu & our lawyer to review the fishermen compensation case. We shared legal updates & highlighted the community’s proposal for 35% of the total compensation to go directly to affected fishermen. We continue to stand for justice
