Defend-first specialists suit Amorim / this Utd squad. They’re needed to paper over the cracks of off-ball organisation flaws. Rightly or wrongly, that’s the requirement if you want to maximise Amorim’s methods. Donnarumma’s specialties are that.
As much as Amorim’s concepts for in-possession work don’t align with my personal beliefs, and I know there could be slight bias in my perception/judement of that, I can still appreciate; how you maximise his ideas, how they can be evolved + the personel required. But i’ve been.
