it genuinely breaks my heart because i love izuku. manga izuku feels like a different character from anime izuku for me. hori draws each and every detail with intent, and the drawings complement the emotions and developments in the story. they work in tandem to tell it.
In terms of design, the anime does Izuku more of a disservice than any other character, IMO. His face shows so many emotions all at the same time, and they get muddled in the adaptation. THIS is our Izuku.
