Thrilled to see my short, braided essay “My Summer Behind the Iron Curtain” in the latest issue of Geist. This piece chronicles an angsty childhood trip to my dad’s village in East Germany the same summer NASA’s Skylab crashed 💥 back to earth 🌍
Geist 123 is out now! Featuring new work by Sara Graefe (@sarageez), @SarahWolfson1, and @leannedunic, plus a comic by Luca Cara Seccafien, fiction from Toby Sharpe, words on film by Gabrielle Marceau (@pureunevile), and much more! https://t.co/PnIXtUtG6K

Thanks @AlixOhlin for your compassionate leadership & seeing us through a term like no other. Last year I literally dragged myself across the end-of-term finish line; this year I'm walking fine but the feeling's the same, not just for me but no doubt all of us. But we did it!!
Last day of class @ubccrwr. What a term! I'm so grateful for our students, who wrote so well & cared so well for one another; our faculty, who worked day & night to make the best possible courses; and our staff, who laboured often invisibly to make it all possible. Thank you all.
