Well, what is scholarship without research time? Yet again another instance where the logics of management and economic efficiency undermine the purposes of academy.
My university is proposing that from now on research should only form 10% of our workload. So glad to know that senior management think doing research is some kind of optional extra for academics, bet that will really pay off in the next REF.
