Seven months ago, I was in a rut. I was missing working soccer. I had just wrapped up a short freelance stint with @SanDiegoLoyal and I was craving getting back to my professional roots. I decided I was going to work my way back into sports in some capacity. 🧵⬇️

Thanks @sdut for allowing me to share this reflection. The sunset of @SanDiegoLoyal was heartbreaking. But it’s leaders, players, staff, and fans should be so proud of its legacy. They lived out their values and created something so special for our community. “San Diego. We are.”

Saved the bet for last. I kept hearing the word 'gratitude' from people around @SanDiegoLoyal in their final days. So I asked @landondonovan what that word meant to him. He told an amazing story about a cool gesture from @WiReD619, and a telling response from Loyal's players.

It has been an honor representing San Diego and playing soccer in this city for the past four years. What this club built was truly special and knowing that it will cease to exist is the hardest part about saying goodbye to this chapter in my life.

PEOPLE. It was always about the people. Inside and outside of the club the people is what made it special. The commitment from Andrew to our supporters and everyone involved with Loyal is what made it special……

Love is the overwhelming feeling today. Love for my family, friends, and everyone who came on this ride with us. Pain comes and goes, our love for one another is eternal. Thank you San Diego.
