Conversely, NPR doesn't operate in splendid isolation. It owns no stations. It is instead part of a larger system. Whatever people think, many stations will be badly hit. Some are likely to close. That will affect their shared ability to cover the country and offer programming.
Remember how Folkenflik repeatedly told everyone that NPR only gets one percent of its money directly from the feds? Now it's "turning upside down." Something doesn't compute.

Breaking: ~83,000 Maricopa County voters got an incorrect letter in the mail from the Recorder’s Office telling them they had moved to another state and would be kicked off the voter rolls. This was a printing error, according to the office, which will send out a release soon.
