The ratoon numbers coming in from across the Texas rice belt are ugly. Preliminary data is suggesting the west side of Houston, where most of the rice in the state is grown, took a 37% yield hit from rice delphacid in this year's ratoon crop.

Another fantastic meeting. This time, the Texas House Ag Committee heard testimonials from farmers, consultants, industry, and academics who have all been impacted by rice delphacid. Big thanks to all who participated.

The USRPA Texas Rice Council had a fantastic meeting today with both state and federal legislators highlighting the current market situation and rice delphacid. Progress is being made for the Texas rice farmer.

It's starting to look like jasmine and other aromatics are highly susceptible to rice delphacid damage. Most of the damage in these fields occurred after insecticide treatment.
