I have thought for a long time that the Trump Admin cutting off of research funding at universities was capricious, arbitrary, and likely illegal. I am glad to see faculty stepping into this legal quagmire. Antisemitism is a real problem on our campuses. But disrupting vital.

This is actually quite important if someone wants to understand American government. The Founding Fathers were attempting to be quite clear about this in the language of the Declaration of Independence and in the Bill of Rights.

Yes, our Constitution recognizes *pre-existing* human rights -- rights that exist by virtue of our humanity, not our citizenship. This concept is foundational to our republic, going back to the Declaration: "All men are created equal" and "endowed by their Creator with certain.

I understand why people want to deport immigrants who enter the U.S. illegally. But the Trump Administration is now deporting people legally in the U.S., with no arrest records, and sending them back to countries that will surely oppress them.

For years, the president has rightly railed against those oppressive regimes. So why is his administration targeting their victims?

This is unfortunately true. We are closing the door on worthy, enterprising immigrants. This current anti-immigrant period is not unique in our history, although it's deeply hypocritical of the core traditions and values on which America was founded and became great. Only 3%.

This article by @MattWelch @reason on U.S. foreign policy is well worth a read. Make sure you are sitting in a comfortable chair with your coffee. By the end, however, you will have a much better understanding of how complicated, hypocritical, contradictory, and difficult.

Interesting facts for #Beatles fans (taken from music arranger Todd Lowry). True collaborations between John Lennon and Paul McCartney can be found on just 18 songs. Lennon was the primary songwriter on 72 songs, and McCartney was he primary writer on 70 songs.

Well, Dean Cain, former Superman, has joined ICE. I think he will end up being more spokesperson than on the ground law enforcement. This reminds me of the celebrities enlisted to propagandize earlier war efforts. Yes, deport the violent criminals. But they are currently.

Honestly, I can’t choose a favorite song from the revolver album. Each song makes a brilliant new contribution to its genre into pop music. The album covers the gamut, from psychedelic to Baroque pop to folk to light pop to conventional rock.

Very useful and insightful chart. As a society we have benefited most directly from those goods and services most exposed to markets incentives and discipline. Something both Democrats and Republicans should remember.
