“ When plunder becomes a way of life for a group of men in a society, over the course of time they create for themselves a legal system that authorizes it and a moral code that glorifies it.” - Frédéric Bastiat

The journey from wonderkid to football star is not an easy one. “Form, fitness, a change of manager or agent or playing partner, a failed transfer, intense media pressure or a contract row, personal or family problem, sapping confidence…”

Once labelled ‘the biggest talent in the world’, the former Borussia Dortmund forward has endured form fluctuations, controversy and criticism

Congratulations to the LA Dodgers. Commiseration to Toronto and the Blue Jays. Game 7 of the 2025 World Series was my first full Baseball game. I thoroughly enjoyed the drama and intrigue - YAMAMOTO. Why are baseball games so long? Back to football or should I say soccer?

ORAL is great but when is Ghana commencing OPAL - OPERATION PREVENT ALL LOOT? Prevention is still better than cure, yes? The 'foolishness,' 'culture of impunity' that we saw must not continue - Sam Jonah backs ORAL.

Ghanaian business mogul, Sir Sam Jonah, has praised President John Dramani Mahama for the implementation of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) anti-corruption initiative.

After watching Julian Alvarez’s latest hat-trick for Atletico Madrid I am convinced that he will be the main ingredient in Argentina’s title defence at #FIFAWorldCup2026 . Why is he so underrated?

It’s been painful watching Kotoko taken apart by Wydad piece by piece. The chasm between the two sides is astonishing. Ghana’s traditional giants got left behind by Africa’s elite decades ago. Their names are mere shadows of a glorious past.

Why do African teams struggle to win the FIFA U20 World Cup when in the U17 World Cup Africa is the most successful continent with seven tournament wins (five for Nigeria, two for Ghana) and six runner-up finishes.
Morocco are the 2025 #U20WC champions. These youngsters are worthy successors to Ghana as only the second champions from Africa.

Argentina have had two unsuccessful VAR penalty challenges against Morocco in this game. Fifa has been trialling a new video review format where managers can hold up a card to request a decision to be reviewed by the referee. #FIFAU20WC

Got to love this Morocco u20 team. Well organised, very disciplined. Argentina is throwing everything at them and they are keeping their shape solid while remaining extremely dangerous on the counter. Half an hour more. #FIFAU20WC

Argentina 0-2 Morocco after 30 minutes. Counter attacking masterclass by Morocco’s youngsters. #FIFAU20WC

Great stuff @MacJordaN. I’m working my way through the 76 pages but I’m already certain there should be an Accra conversation focused on specific measurable and accountable steps first Ghana that transcend the rhetoric.
🚨 The State of #InternetFreedom in Africa 2025 report was launched at #FIFAfrica25 in Windhoek, Namibia 🇳🇦. It revealed crucial insights into how digital rights across the continent were evolving and where urgent action was needed. A thread…🧵

Let’s not start an argument that Ghana should stuff the Black Stars with Ghana Premier League players for the 2026 because of what South Africa has achieved with the PSL players in their ranks. The situation is more nuanced that meets the eye.

There is such a thing as a ‘big player’. They don’t always show up when needed the most, but Victor Osimhen did for Nigeria today. Contrast that with South Africa under Hugo Broos - No recognised superstar but an effective unit that has secured automatic qualification.
Nigeria were third place in their group and on the brink of missing out on the World Cup heading into the final matchday. Then Victor Osimhen scored a hat trick, led them to a 4-0 victory over Benin and secured a spot in the playoffs, avoiding elimination. Heroic 🇳🇬

Reminder: For an African country to reach the #FIFAWorldCup through the playoff route, it has to win the African play-off and then join one team each from AFC, CONMEBOL and OFC and two from CONCACAF in the inter-confederation play-offs. Hard work.

This is off course subject to CAF’s withdrawal/bottom team point adjustments. #WorldCupQualifiers
As you can see no amount of goals scored by Nigeria can put them into the group of top 4 second place finishers eligible for the inter-continental playoff. Their golden ticket depended on South Africa losing which didn’t happen.

Full time in Nelspruit, South Africa 3-0 Rwanda. Bafana Bafana will finish top of Group C and qualify to the World Cup! They will make their fourth appearance, adding to 1998, 2002 and 2010. #AfricanFootball #WorldCupQualifers
