Cradle Of Filth’s newer material has moments where it sounds like they’re playing power metal for a few seconds and then there’s this. This is pretty much an entire track of Gothic Power Metal and I have absolutely no complaints. https://t.co/aAgaoHhs3e

I’ve really had the strongest desire lately to just park in a cemetery and listen to gothic rock/metal. This is by far the closest I’ve ever gotten to having a goth phase.

Deathrock has to be one of the coolest sounding names for a subgenre

#NowPlaying Walpyrgus - Walpyrgus Nights (2017) Horror-drenched Trad Metal w/ killer hooks, vocal harmonies that will give you goosebumps, tasty keys, and excellent instrumentation all around. The perfect spooky season album that I must share every October.

Gothic Rock, Post-Punk, Deathrock, and Darkwave are sub genres I really enjoy in Sept and Oct. Always looking for new recs in these styles. My only prerequisite is NOT having a vocalist that sounds like Dracula. Anything slightly melodic would also be a plus.

Nothing like taxiing home a couple of drunk guys and making jokes about them killing me then finding out after the ride that one of them just got out of prison for dismembering & disposing of a murder victim.

You guys need to stop what you’re doing right now and check this out. The guitar solo on this song sounds just like the solo from Mr. Crowley and I have no idea why. Solo starts at 2:36 https://t.co/NK9Mp0LvzL

#UpNext The Cure - The Head On The Door (‘85) Slowly working my way thru The Cure’s catalog for the first time. My sister was really into them when we were growing up so I was exposed lot of their material. Some songs I liked but I never fully got into them.

#NowPlaying (while all of you are sleeping) Aara - Triade III : Nyx (2023) If you’ve never dabbled in Atmospheric Black Metal but were a tiny bit curious, this album would be a great place to start. https://t.co/R34Jq6FcXj

So until now, I had only heard analog formats of this album. Owned it on tape decades ago and currently own it on LP. This time I listened on Spotify since I was in my vehicle and honestly, I thought the production sounded a lot better. Drums didn’t annoy me.
#NowPlaying Def Leppard - Pyromania (‘83) Revisiting some summer classics before summer runs out. Does anyone else not like the production on this album? It’s mainly the drum sound that bugs me. Would’ve loved some of that crispness they had on High n’ Dry.
