A good coding agent would treat you like a client. It would take your direction and map it out. Right now agents feel like headless chickens. They follow your directions without any follow up and claim “it’s good”. The interaction doesn’t feel natural.

One major thing that is missing with AI coding tools is they don’t have follow up questions for you before they start building. I’d love if they’d ask me if I had some inspirations, had a certain theme, clarified things I said. Would take less iterations to get it right.
