31-13, FINAL Not many positives Michigan can take away from this one. Justice Haynes sustained an injury, Underwood had his ups and downs. Michigan's defense looked far from dominant. The moment the Wolverines went down 21-7, this game felt over.

4:20 | Q4 That should be the dagger. USC sophomore Bryan Jackson makes the right cut through Michigan's defensive front and finds the end zone. The Wolverines were expecting USC to have to beat them in the air, but the Trojans took it to Michigan on the ground. 31-13, USC

9:17 | Q4 Well, that was quick. On the second play of the drive, Underwood drops back, hits Marsh up the seam and Marsh sheds a tackle for a 69-yard TD. Then Underwood overthrows McCulley for the 2pt conversion, and both players bring their hands to their head. 24-13, USC

10:01 | Q4 A 54-yard field goal from the Trojans all but puts this game away. I don't know if Michigan scoring just 7 points or Michigan getting out-gained on the ground (119 to 186) is more surprising. Probably the latter. 24-7, USC

0:37 | Q3 Underwood with some high-tempo, high-accuracy throws before missing McCulley deep and throwing a pick. Up until that throw (and the other two misses before it) Michigan's offense looked surgical. Now they're off the field, and down 14 points. 21-7, USC

5:00 | Q3 I had a whole tweet about how King Miller was taking over this game, then USC QB Jayden Maiava scrambled, avoided two separate sacks and threw an interception to Zeke Berry. Michigan with the ball at its 4 and a chance to make this a one-score game. 21-7, USC

10:45 | Q3 USC shows it can beat Michigan on the ground, too. 68 yds + TD by Miller. Drive was buoyed by an explosive run, on which both Hillman and Berry missed tackles. Michigan's defense emphasized tackling after Wisconsin, but has had some crucial misses today. 21-7, USC

12:41 | Q3 An OPI stymies Michigan's first drive of the second half, and Underwood can't make it to the first down as he tries to keep it and run. McCulley talking to him as the two walk off the field. Poor punt from Michigan gives USC the ball at their 48-yard line. 14-7, USC

END Q2 With 18 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, Jayden Maiava hits Makai Lemon on a corner fade. Lemon is one of the only receivers in the country who can make that catch. No margin for error there. Michigan will start with the ball in second half. 14-7, USC

3:09 | Q2 Michigan's best drive yet, defined by some big plays at crucial moments. First, a catch by McCulley in a tight window for a first down. Then Marshall muscles through several tackles. Then Underwood, facing pressure, dots McCulley in the end zone with a dart. 7-7

12:00 | Q2 Klein false starts on a 3rd-and-four, gets an earful on the sidelines from Sherrone Moore, and Underwood is sacked while scrambling on the next play. Coliseum erupts, and Michigan punts away what started as a promising drive for the Wolverines. 7-0, USC

END Q1 So far, an efficient drive from Michigan. Underwood hitting Marsh and Haynes averaging 5 yards a carry. Michigan put Hansen and Klein on the field at the same time but has used at least one for blocking. If Haynes can keep it up on the ground, watch the TEs. 7-0, USC

3:02 | Q1 Another drive that seems to be going USC's way, featuring more missed tackles from Michigan than usual, ends in a forced fumble on UM's 29-yard line. Let's see if the Wolverines can be as impactful on offense. 7-0, USC

8:04 | Q1 Michigan's first drive not as productive. Underwood overthrows a well-defended McCulley on the first down, Marsh — who looked like the first target — trips and falls on second down, and Haynes drops a pass on third down. Wolverines back on defense fast. 7-0, USC

8:57 | Q1 Michigan's defense started slow against Oklahoma, Nebraska and Wisconsin. Continuing that trend against USC. USC's Ja'Kobi Lane open on a slant for an effortless TD. The Trojans beat Michigan on the ground and in the air on that opening drive. 7-0, USC

FINAL, 24-10 After a rough half offensively, Michigan really turned it around in the third quarter. McCulley had his best game as a Wolverine, Haynes continued the 100+ yards per game streak, and Marsh looked like a promising option. Defense was great.

9:24 | Q4 McCulley continues to impress. On first down, he leaps up, surrounded by space, and snatches a high ball out of the air. Sheds a tackle and turns it into a 25-yard gain. Haynes runs in the score. Michigan's offense, after a sleepy first half, is heating up. 24-7, UM

12:21 | Q4 After a low snap led to a turnover on downs, Michigan's defense stifles Wisconsin yet again. That has been the biggest factor today. After that first quarter, the Wolverines have looked really, really solid on defense. 17-7, Michigan
