The Great Yarn Slop of the 1770s: Early in the Industrial Revolution, spinning was mechanized first (spinning cotton → yarn → cloth). England was flooded with yarn no hand weaver could absorb, until the power loom arrived a decade later. Feels like there’s a parallel today.
