Tuwing tinatamad at nawawalan ng gana sa buhay, ipinapaalala ko na lang sa sarili ko na wala nga pala akong generational wealth na pwedeng bagsakan. Oras na sumuko ako, tapos na ako.
Cannot. Afford. To. Fail.
I’ve been flying to Manila from HK almost every weekend during the past few months to be with my family as my dad battled cancer. His seven-month fight ended today. These were among our last conversations.
I miss you, dad.
My family ran out of medicines last week for my dad and cousin who got sick, so they contacted OVP’s Bayanihan E-Konsulta. Didn’t expect much because we knew how busy the team is these days. But… wow!
12 years ago, when I was young and idealistic and had a full head of hair, I wrote a column for our college paper about how LGBTs should stop treating our identity as a negative trait that should be offset by other qualities (“I am gay BUT...”). And that’s my coming out story. 😅
I wouldn’t be where I am today—heck, I wouldn’t have reached anything in life—if ABS-CBN did not take a chance on me. I am a journalist today because of ABS-CBN. So yes, this is personal.
My dad’s in ICU right now. He’s doing fine but the thought of him almost leaving us was a wake-up call: I should check on my parents more often. Please - let’s take every opportunity to tell our parents how much we love them.

Heartbroken. It’s a devastating day for press freedom in the Philippines. Thinking of my friends and former colleagues and the place I called home for 7 years. ABS-CBN gave me my first job and made me a journalist, and it will forever be a part of me.

Losing sleep just thinking about the elections on Monday. I’ve never been this concerned and anxious. Lots at stake - our soul as a nation, our democracy, how we see our past and the future we want to have..

is not just about the US. It’s about the future of the international order, which, like it or not, is still led by America and the institutions it helped build. That’s why we should all care, whether we’re Americans or not.
Found these boarding passes while decluttering. They’re from all trips I made this year from Hong Kong to Manila and back.
These are reminders of how painful the past few months have been for me. Since my dad was diagnosed with cancer until his death weeks ago,

So what’s the purpose of learning history if we should disregard the mistakes and evils of the past just because we “never experienced” them? Aren’t the testimonies of those who lived through them enough?

Tuwing umiinit ang ulo ko sa mga kasinungalingan na nababasa ko sa social media, iniisip ko na lang, “Madaling makipagtalo. Mas radikal ang magmahal.” Tapos hinga nang malalim.
My surprise homecoming
My parents knew I was planning to visit but I wouldn’t give them an exact date. Then I suddenly joined last Sunday’s family lunch that I asked my siblings to organize. 😅
Reunited after almost three years, and I couldn’t be any happier ❤️
Cleaning up my FB inbox and came across this message from a well-meaning friend 7 years ago, when I came out with a boyfriend. Funny that this was how some people thought back then. Hope things have changed now. (Also.. advanced Happy Pride! 🌈)
Sawa na ako sa sarili kong birthday 🤣 But I saved the most meaningful celebration for last: one with my partner and our moms (mine joining remotely from Manila). So grateful to have them in my life ❤️
“Perhaps the biggest challenge facing Ms. Robredo’s young volunteers has been the wave of disinformation that has lionized the Marcos era and vilified Ms. Robredo as a communist.”
An attack on press freedom in the Philippines. Deeply disturbing. But I believe Rappler, which has some of our country's best and most courageous journalists, will not be silenced.
Just realized it’s exactly my 10th year in journalism. It was in April 2008 when ABS-CBN hired me as a production assistant; 5 months later I became a reporter. After a decade in the media industry, I’m about to study and look at it from a distance. Exciting times.
Former kapamilya joining the bandwagon. 😆
Forever grateful and honored to have worked 7 years in this company, where I started my journalism career. Those were some of the happiest years of my life. ❤️
Happy 65th, ABS-CBN.
