Happy Halloween! 👻 Meet the amethyst deceiver, a trickster fungus that shifts from deep purple to pale white when dry, sometimes mistaken for a poisonous lookalike! 🍄 Spotted by our Head of Conservation, Silvia, at Cefn Cenarth

Lovely moth trapping event recently at the Metropole Garden! We were joined by Dr. Joe Botting and discovered a possible rare find for Radnorshire! 🦋 The white moth in the photo might be Palpita vitrealis, though we’re waiting for confirmation from the county moth recorders.

🕷️ As it gets colder, more spiders head indoors, but don’t panic! Most UK spiders are harmless and help control insects. Not all spiders are the same, some are built for the outdoors, while house spiders have evolved to prefer the steady temperatures and dry air of our homes
