#CVPR2023 Thu 6/22 AM poster session! Saw a few neat works in XAI on saliency maps and concept-based explanations using vision+language as well as posters by old and new friends on accessibility (ie audio descriptions for movies) and learning street maps :)

#CVPR2023 posters from Wed 6/21 AM session! @sunniesuhyoung and Vikram V. Ramaswamy did a great job presenting our poster on concept-based explanations! Was also neat to check out nearby posters on text-based counterfactuals and geodiversity for vision+language.

Enjoyed a talk by @QVeraLiao who notes that prediction may not be the most interesting problem to work on, but rather extracting information, summarizing to help a human perform the decision making. #CVPR23

@arvindsatya1’s talk focused on their recent #FAccT2023 work by @angie_boggust and @harini824 et. al on Saliency Cards; see the authors’ thread for more details! Really neat to see how they develop vocabulary for the different parts of saliency methods and how to weigh them.
