Everyone singing me happy birthday via conference call, in a different time, tempo, and key, is truly my favorite Zeal tradition π

Whenever I hear someone say βIβm so bad at X,β I put my coaching hat on: βMost βweaknessesβ can be traced to an overused strength. What might that be for you in this situation?β I find it to be a much more productive frame π

Do you know of any open source code bases or other projects that sound like what I'm looking for? Send me Github links or connect me with the source code or project owners looking for contributors! RTs and shares welcome :) Thanks a lot!

I'm specifically interested in brownfield Rails projects--apps that are maybe a little stale or not performant where I could make things better. I also want to practice Rails upgrades. Right now I'm on a JS project at work and I'd like to get back into Ruby in my free time <3

One of my professional goals this year is to code outside of work more. My intention is to flex my consultant muscles by identifying potential improvement areas in the code (separate from new feature development). This is a common ask for consultancies and I want to get better.

It's a truly special team, and definitely the best job I've ever had. If I can answer any questions, I'd be happy to share more about my experience!

My team at @codingzeal is hiring full stack engineers, with Rails, modern JS (esp React/Redux), and/or Elixir experience. We're a fully remote company, with folks all across the US, and we're currently looking for both full-time employees and contractors.

This weekend, I hit a major milestone: I paid off my loan for code school! I'm eternally grateful to @SDLEARN for training me to enter this field, and @codingzeal for being an amazing first job to learn, grow, and WORK. Taking the leap and investing in my career was SO worth itπ
