To add on that, many of the tabieen, and tablet’tabeen compiled the Sirah of the prophet sallallahu Aleyhi Wa Salam. For example Ibn Ishaq, who wrote Al-Sirah al-Nabawiyyah which has been lost to time. However, we have a trimmed down version of the book by ibn hisham.
