Ppl may hear this and think ā€œoh they want to get paid moreā€ but that’s not it. When our surgeries bill like šŸ—‘ļø we get kicked out of surgicenters to make room for cases that bill more and PATIENTS pay the price. BTW, those higher šŸ’° surgeries aren’t for more skill or training.

Talk to @louise_p_king @jfitzgeraldMD about the ā€œdouble discriminationā€ in gyn surgical pay. We work hard to provide subspecialty care but average pay is 1/3 less than general OB/gyns and 50% of general surgeons. @AAGL @AAGLJMIG @FMIGS1

Surgery continues to be more diverse w/ more women, races/ethnicities, sexual orientations, & other minoritized groups, & leadership must be held accountable to support all surgeons. This is why DEI is important in surgery. We can’t have statements like this. #STS2023

Thanks to @Mikhail_MIGS for inviting us to write this important review on residency training in #obgyn. Our current training model isn’t leading to good patient outcomes. Here we propose solutions! @CedarsSinai @OBGYN_CS https://t.co/NWjaTi4Y02

Folks, we really have to start talking about this. Surgery as practiced in the US today, with all of our non-evidenced based regulations and single use plastics, is a huge propellant of #climatechange. Let’s start turning the tide for our health. @AAGL https://t.co/NyCfcbM6F0

Enjoying @OBGYN_CS grand rounds from @BrighamWomens Dr. Sarah Little! Brings up an interesting re-frame: "what's the benefit to NOT being induced?" i.e. who is most or least likely to go into spontaneous labor? (The least 'favorable' cx is actually the most likely to benefit)
