Sad that my country left the EU last night but super excited to have joined a new family today - the group of the most hard-working, selfless individuals I have ever known - the Microsoft #MVPs! Thank you @LonBizAnalytics (Mark w) @AmyKateNicho for the nominations! #mvpbuzz

Another challenge I hear from customers in fabric has been that there are too many ways to do the same thing which results in inconsistency. Announcing user defined data functions in fabric notebooks (which can be called via external APIs) to re-use code snippets!

Whilst Power BI users love the developer features of fabric for enterprise reporting, for the data engineers used to Azure the criticism has always been that it doesn't go far enough - it needs dynamic CI/CD, SPN support and a command line interface!!

This is insane!!! When you need to hire a 20,000 seater sports stadium in Las Vegas for a product keynote you know you're onto something:-). Great to see @GuyInACube interviewing fans too - there's some fellow former accountants in the room!

At least @RishiSunak gets it - what other politician could host a 1:1 tech discussion with @elonmusk about the future of AI? - This and a background in finance and as chancellor in the toughest economic times ever makes him the right person to lead.

With the UK going to the polls tomorrow there’s really very little in any manifesto that’s going to move the needle (Which has done a good summary-. where’s the government that’s going to prioritise adult education in tech/AI so we become competitive?.

In my session at #fabcon this afternoon I’ll talk about “Analytics in the era of Gen AI”. The announcement of copilot for data warehouse and bringing PBI copilot into the desktop experience (including explaining existing dax queries and even general concepts!) is a key enabler!

With all the focus on data engineering and modelling with #microsoftfabric you could be forgiven for thinking the visualisation side of Power BI has been forgotten - but nope! There’s even a new visualisation type - 100% stacked area chart-announced today at #fabcon!

#microsoftfabric makes the traditional #etl process - going from transactional to analytical data products-much easier. But what if you could do away with extraction altogether? Mirroring - near real time DB replication - is now launched in private preview as announced at #fabcon

Governance and security needs to be an integral component of any data platform and has to be carefully balanced with ease of use/time to insights. #microsoftfabric strikes that balance perfectly with having Onelake as THE single place to manage permissions and access control

#fabcon announcement! Task flows are one of the biggest announcements in fabric since launch in creating valuable and usable data products - items are aligned to a stage in a workflow/architecture that allows anyone looking at a workspace to know how all the items fit together!
