Members took a group of senior citizens to the #OastTheatre to see the dress rehearsal of #Quartet. Everyone enjoyed this funny and poignant play set in a retirement home which follows the experiences of four former opera singers preparing for their annual gala performance.

President Peter Thomas will take part in #Tonbridge Remembrance Day & Service which will begin with the parade leaving @TonbridgeCastle at 10.30am. It will process down Bank Street, onto the High Street and into Bradford Street before gathering for the service and commemoration.

PP Eddie Prescott visited one of the club's Business Partners today. "Having ventured out on a wet, grey, overcast and generally miserable day, my spirits were immediately raised by calling in at @CapelCottage and being confronted by a whole variety of wonderful colours."

Rotary members are strong supporters of #EndPolioNow. Many clubs, including Tonbridge, plant purple crocus corms in public areas which flower in Spring to mark the polio campaign (the colour matches the dye painted on the fingers of children to show they have been immunised).

We have a scheme called the #FriendsoftheRotaryClubofTonbridge to enable those who cannot commit to full membership but who would like to be associated with our Club, to do so. We’d be very pleased to hear from you if you would like to become a ‘Friend’ of Tonbridge Rotary Club.

Twice a year we have a #FrugalLunch where participants pay the normal charge but receive only soup, bread and cheese with the surplus going to a charity. The chosen charity this month is @operationsmile which is dedicated to improving the lives of children with cleft conditions.

Our annual Senior Citizens Oast Theatre outing will take place on the evening of 7th November at Tonbridge Theatre and Arts Club (Oast Theatre), where Rotary guests will enjoy a performance of "The Quartet”. Members will chauffeur and accompany their guests to the performance.

Some of the winners of the @tmc_tonbridge 2024 awards will be performing at a special 1hour morning concert at #SomerhillSchool on Sunday 2 November. Tickets (£10 for adults, free for under-18s) are available from the TMC website [ https://t.co/YlDyisQbHn].

The winner of the 2025 #Rotary-sponsored @tmc_tonbridge #YoungMusicianAward received his certificate at a concert featuring @kleioquartet held at @PeterPaulTon on 4 October. IPP Julian Brandling-Harris presented 15-year-old Karson Lui with the £300 award.
