There's a tremendous amount of noise around the pros/cons of Sandbox. However, nearly no one has put the amount of work into testing it that Criteo has. I appreciate their thoughtful approach, and I agree with their list of issues.

A slide from the IAPP session on PETS. It was clear that companies struggle to evaluate new solutions for a privacy- first world. My basic advice? Don’t start with a company that profited from a lack of care in privacy. Start with one that set out to preserve privacy day one.

The ICO has yet to weigh in on PUR generally or on any of its incarnations, but the regulator appears willing to listen to industry’s perspectives on the subject. Any such conversations will take time to bear clarifying fruit through early 2024.
