It’s our movements that did it. For tenants rights, for Palestine and yes, the me too movement! . People left and right love to hate on #metoo but without a mass movement against sexual violence Mamdani would never have been able to call Cuomo a sexual predator & have it stick!.

Without this action two of our members would be homeless now. In a world where nothing seems to matter, not human life, not international law, not ethics, not justice, not a liveable future this matters!.
🙌 EVICTION STOPPED! 💪. Dozens of tenants stood strong in the rain today for hours on end to keep our members safe and buy them time to move into new accommodation. As long as the government fails to protect us, we will turn up for each other to keep our members in their homes.

Eden is pregnant & living in temporary accommodation with her little one. They have both suffered sickness because the black mould is so bad. We will continue to fight for Eden and for safe, warm homes for all.
After we took action on Monday outside Hackney Town Hall Cllr @EttiSade told our member Eden she would be in contact within 48 hours to arrange a follow up meeting with Eden and LRU representatives yet 4 days later we have heard nothing. This isn't good enough!.

If I could read Helen Garner all day every day, I’d regard it as a life well-lived. I revere all her writing, but it’s her non-fiction I return to most and, to distil it further, for me it’s her diaries that show her to be the absolute killer writer that she is. I think it was
