🌍🧠 At #ESOC2025, @dyavagal delivered a powerful talk on the global inequity in access to thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke. 🚨 MT-GLASS study revealed a global median access of just 2.79%.⚖️ A shocking 500-fold disparity—from Australia 🇦🇺 to Bangladesh 🇧🇩.💔.
A stroke will impact 1 in 5 people >25. The 500-fold disparity in access to life-saving thrombectomy and <5% worldwide access is a global shame. We MUST advocate to end this "Thrombectomy Desert" and ensure 50% minimum access worldwide by 2030. Ambitious but can be done.
