So, in short, will every player be a roaring success? Probably not. Will some of them, even most of them, be? 100%. Look at the recent history above as a reference point. Why don’t we give the boys a fair crack before coming to judgment?. Rant over! -M.

I don’t get being written off before they’ve touched a ball in green, red and white. Imagine if you’re a player, and you read some of the reaction, what your thoughts would be of a section of the fan base. What a way to be welcomed in to what was meant to be a massive move.

Some of these boys will become starters, others squad players - but all will give everything to improve themselves and the team. It’s an exciting, young, talented and hungry squad. I get saying “dunno much about this guy, excited to see what he can do though”.

I guarantee that the same people moaning that there aren’t big name signings arriving will be the same crowd who moan that we were paying big bucks to the Emperor and Polly and we were without them for the first third of the season, or England players around internationals.

All massive successes at Tigers. Arguably amongst the biggest success stories over the last few years. What did they have in common? The club did their research - talented, young, hungry to improve. And, fuck me, did they improve. They added an enormous amount to the side.

Harry Potter and Guy Porter hadn’t played a minute of super rugby. Dan Kelly and Cam Henderson were released from their academies. Big Red and Nic Dolly were grabbed from the championship after being released by Prem sides (Ches by us!). You had no idea who Jasper Wiese was.

Most fans are great and have an open mind (and trust the club to have done their homework) but I’d like to address the minority of fans who have been overly negative in respect of the signings yesterday. How short are your memories?. Let’s take a look at some recent history….

God I love AI. Googled “rolling maul podcast reviews” because I don’t get them in Australia, and it gave me the AI summary, including “areas for improvement”. Very constructive. “Lack of sobriety” is a badge we will wear with honour!. Oh yeah, remember to leave a review 😉
