2 more thoughts on slop: 1 – When new tech gets democratized, everyone jumps in and plays. When DAWs hit, I and many others made stuff existing musicians would’ve called slop. It wasn’t good, but it was a gateway to real creation, and the best artists still rose above. 2 – When
I think "slop" is a great term in the current moment, but I also expect it will become dated within a few years as AI improves and its output generally gets to fewer inaccuracies than the human-created material it is compared against.
