Genuine question. Why does News Corp hate Brittany Higgins so much? Surely can't be a question of political allegiances as she was Lib staffer. The answer I suspect, that it's just them monetising via clicks the resultant misogyny & 'male grievance' mob, is, frankly, sickening.
@equalisequal5
They know the audience they have cultivated is full of middle aged and older men pissed off their institutionalised advantages are oh so gradually being eroded. This just plays right into that demographic. They're so calculated in their hatred with everything it's just sick.
@rohan_connolly
Here's a question for you
@rohan_connolly
do you think the modern LNP and Murdoch media would accept gun law changes after a massacre of Port Arthur scale today if it didn't happen in 1996?
@1990crow2
Good question, significantly weaker National Party now, so perhaps wouldn't cause them as much grief, but there'd probably be more blowback from within their own party.
@Mumbles_SA
You didn't even answer a question, numbnuts. By the way, how did crap like this work out for you? ... Jeez people like you make me laugh. How does it feel to be so comprehensively on the wrong side of history, time and time again?
The campaign manager for the a independent candidate in Mulgrave, Ian Cook, cites exit polling completed by the campaign which shows Cook ahead in Mulgrave 57-43 2PP.
This would be a ~24% swing against the incumbent - which is the Premier.
@robyntan
I don't presume to know how any person traumatised by an assault would react. But I've got a question for you. As a woman, why would that be your takeaway rather than empathy?
@rohan_connolly
My understanding of the narrative is that it is not hate - itβs the principle of the presumption of innocence, that the prosecution has to prove its case snd the criticisms of Brittany recwhy did she delay going to the police , why the media, the rallies , the book deal etc
@rohan_connolly
This Liberal Party now lies in tatters, captured by minorities of cranks and extremists, beholden to fossil fuel interests, and with increasingly tenuous links to the lived reality of the nation.
