Taken a lot of planning to get onsite to shoot the D-Day map at Southwick house - as part of a digital interactive we are producing to help understand this historic event. It was humbling to stand in the room where Churchill & great minds had to make such monumental decisions.
Our Collections team recently met with photographer Steve Davey and designers Rocketbox to photograph the D-Day Map at Southwick House The images will be used to create a new digital interactive of the map on the @NatMuseumRN website to tell the story of the operation #DDay80

We were saddened to hear of the recent passing of Arthur Mack, the Portsmouth fisherman who found HMS Invincible. Arthur was a respected amateur nautical archaeologist and leaves a lasting legacy with his history-changing discovery.
