So I find this so interesting. Most people see reality, as did I. But looking closely, it’s actually beauty. Based on the shape of the B and spacing of the U. So, people want to see reality. But the reality is beauty :).

Hi there. I’m your new superpower. 👋. It’s time to stop guessing what people think. It’s time to trade in your blind spots for true self-awareness. It’s time to decode reality, once and for all. Your conversations will never be the same.

I wonder if something can possibly spur a neo enlightenment. Seems desperately needed.

Wow, just read this amazing quote by Carl Sagan back in 1995. Now I need to read the whole book. "I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time - when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing.

This company eschews a lot of current VC wisdom about series B's being impossible to raise outside of AI and requiring a speculative infinite narrative. It turns out great teams delivering no-brainer customer value with an excellent economic model is still in favor.

Congrats to our portfolio company @wearerunwise on their $55M series B led by Menlo. Proud to have been investors since the seed, and amazing to see the company flourish. Runwise serves 10K buildings and helps to save over $100M in energy cost. And they are just getting started!.

Is it just me, or does @NumeralTax REALLY want me to know that they raised a series A from Benchmark? Just an insane number of LinkedIn ads.

New post: Groupthink vs. Thinking as Group.

This is why groupthink continues to persist in most of venture, even though we all claim to be contrarians. We've been fooled into thinking that avoiding groupthink is about how we make decision. It's actually about the foundation and culture upon which the group thinks :).

Third example: are Partners willing to do the extra work to get to answers quickly together? In a fast moving opportunity, can you get 4 days of diligence done in 1 day because you have 4 people working on it? This allows for speed AND diligence, not just sloppy speed.

Another example: is there enough social awareness and trust to be able to call one another out for past mistakes or biases to make the lead Partner face hard truths? This is more about culture and cohesion than any sort of voting scheme.

For example: is the culture of the firm centered around truth seeking? Are Partners incentivized to drive the best outcomes for the firm vs. putting points on the board themselves? This is more about the economic structure of the firm than it is about decision-making rules.

In other words, it's NOT about group decision-making. That's what leads to group think. Is IS about thinking as a group. That's what leads to better decisions. Actually, any decision-making system can work. But what matters is everything that happens before the decision.
