A lot of buzz about #MicrosoftFabric now, I hope they got it right this time, I’ve been excited many times at Azure data services announcements but always disappointed after a few months of real usage. I actually celebrated finally sunsetting our last Azure resources this week.

Notice, I’m not pointing out anyone and we may not even have a problem. This is an appeal to the #dataengineering community, companies and influencers to strive for transparency, authenticity and follow established rules, community guidelines and tos on social media platforms.

I’m not questioning the authenticity of influencers, I haven’t seen anything questionable, it is the transparency I am missing.

what bothers me (and here I am really happy being proven wrong) is that despite actively looking for sponsorship disclaimers in data engineering content I rarely (if ever) see that.

To avoid any speculation that influencers want to impressing brands they've made deals with, I think that the most important ethical issue in influencer marketing is sponsorship disclosure.

#dataengineering influencer marketing is real. But do we have a transparency issue?.

seems to be different pricing for different regions (differing quite a lot, $5-$7.5), but US and EU multi-region are still $5/TB.

When did GCP increase #BigQuery on demand pricing from $5/TB to $6? It is quite an increase, beating inflation substantially. Have to check how/if they changed prices for reserved slots and BI Engine as well.
